Instructions on how to make the aircraft rescue card

The purpose of the rescue card is to give the rescuer quick information on how the aircraft is made safe. It is not an advertisement or a marketing tool.

Make the card similar to others. The differences slow down the use of the card, and in the rescue situation, it can be fateful.

Elements of the aircraft rescue card

The uppermost block contains the aircraft's photographs onsides, on the left front oblique, and right rear views obliquely. Their purpose is to be a backup to the rescuer that the instruction is to the right aircraft. In the middle, there is a QR code, which is a net link to this card. If video guides are connected to the card, one will get at the PDF file only through this QR code in which there are links to the videos. Under the QR code, the type of aircraft is given. And if the card is the aircraft-specific register marks of the aircraft. The card without the register marks is typical of this type.

There is a line drawing of the aircraft in the middle from the top and looking from the left side. Parts of the aircraft can be placed outside the edges of the block if there is not any interest in those areas. The right-wing is not seen generally in the top view, and in the profile, the tail has been cut away. The most important area is the areas of a cabin and motor, and they should be quite large.

In the bottom block are the symbols to be used and their significances. These are equal in all the cards. In the lower edge, there also is the date of the card and other identifier information. So you can check from which that the card in use is the most recent update.

Videos

The videos can be used to give instructions on matters which are not self-evident. Think, what aircraft in question for the first time the approaching rescuer needs.

These matters are:

- Opening of a door/the canopy,

- Switching electricity off

- Closing fuel system valve

- Disconnecting of the high voltage system from the battery

- Disarming the rocket parachute system

The video files are always quite big, and the network connection of the accident site is not necessarily very quick. So the size of the file the video should not be mt more than 10 mb.

Reaching small size is easy when the following restrictions are followed. The videos must contain only the matter in question and go direct to the point. Leave voice away. Rescuer might not understand language, and it may not be hearable at the site anyway. Twenty-five frames per second are enough. If you need more than 15 seconds, rethink and begin from scratch.

The video format must be such that everyone can play it on all the devices. The fact that the video has been embedded in a PDF file is for this reason. For the present MP4/h.264 is the only acceptable format.

Template

In the link below a SVG template file is available for doing the card by yourself. The program suitable to the handling of the SVG file is, among others, Inkscape. It is open-source software. When you have prepared your card, send this SVG file of it to us. And possible videos. We add a QR-code field to it so that the card/the sticker will operate correctly.

Get your template svg from this link.

Note, that you cannot open the file from this link! Select "Save link as" function.
